Colley Elevator has completed the traction elevator modernization at South Shore Cultural Center for the Chicago Park District. Friedler Construction was awarded the elevator modernization at Chicago’s South Shore Cultural Center and partnered with Colley Elevator for completion. The South Shore Cultural Center was built in 1916 and has had several elevator modernizations on each elevator through its history. This was a challenging modernization due to the age and unique layout of the building. The elevator consultant on the project was Joe Donnelly of Donnelly & Associates. Colley Elevator’s material suppliers for the project where Motion Control Engineering, H & B Elevator Cabs, Innovation Industries, GAL Manufacturing, Hollister Whitney, ELSCO & Adams Elevator.
