July 15, 2022 – Today Colley Elevator Co. announced it will use its Colley Cares program to support victims of the recent mass shooting in Highland Park, IL. The company’s philanthropic initiative is tied to elevator modernization sales and typically supports five employee-chosen charities each fiscal quarter. Donations for the current quarter will go exclusively to Victims First, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
From July to September, Colley Elevator will earmark $100 from the sale of each modernization project. At the quarter’s end, the funds will be donated to the Victims First GoFundMe fundraiser dedicated to the Highland Park Fourth of July Parade Shooting.
“We were deeply saddened by the news of another mass shooting. The events of July 4th had a particularly devastating effect due to their proximity and the realization that one of our mechanics was in attendance”, says Craig Zomchek, the company’s Managing Partner, “Using our charitable donation program to benefit the victims is the least we could do.”
Zomchek was so moved that he has matched employee’s personal contributions, up to a total of $1000, to any of the verified GoFundMe fundraisers for Highland Park.
