August 21, 2023 – As kids head back to school this year, projects with local school districts are winding down. Our summer was packed with upgrades to keep schools on track for the 2023/24 year.
During the break, we did a pair of modernization projects for schools that rely on their elevator systems to move teachers, children, supplies, and food. We were excited to provide important equipment upgrades for Lemont High School and the Wheeling School District. These upgrades are to address aging elevator systems, obsolescence and proprietary equipment replacements.
In addition to equipment upgrades, we were working with several districts to coordinate the newly mandated state testing during summer break. Required on all elevators that can be sent into Fireman’s Emergency Recall, the FAID test will require a third-party licensed inspector to witness fire recall testing. Note – City of Chicago is exempt from this requirement.
As we continue to expand throughout the Chicagoland area, we strive to be the preferred service provider in the low- to mid-rise maintenance and modernization categories. We maintain and service nearly 2500 elevators in our portfolio; more than 150 of which are under contract at academic institutions.
